“In-house” Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) infusion devices must be purchased and maintained. Unplanned repairs and replacements may deeply impact a facility’s budget. If these devices travel with a patient, the risk of loss is always present. While utilizing the Infudyne ambulatory infusion service, the risk for loss and/or damage is covered by Infudyne. It is Infudyne’s responsibility, should the USPS lose or damage a device. It is Infudyne’s responsibility, should a patient lose a device, drop the device in a toilet (happens), or the dog chews it up (also happens), the healthcare provider or patient is not held responsible and is not charged for the replacement of the device.
This Infudyne damage and loss program is already included in the fee for our service. We do not require a premium or additional agreement for this service to be included. This is just another means by which Infudyne is committed to supporting your mission in providing value-based healthcare to your patients.
As well, our devices are not repaired and reintroduced for clinical use. When devices are damaged or fail inspection, they are decommissioned and sent for forensic evaluation. Thus, ensuring manufacturing processes on our devices are continuously being improved and we are not relying on third party parts for the ongoing validation of these very important devices.
